Tajuk macam nak pergi berperang je gaya. Siap pasang strategi. ;P

No lah. Ini namanya nak kongsi sikit ilmu yang saya dapat dari pemerhatian dan pembacaan  saya di sekolah Fatih. Cikgu dorang ada tampal strategi ni kat papan kenyataan nursery. Saya pun baru semalam dapat baca. Selama ni lepas hantar Fatih terus cepat-cepat keluar nak kejar bas. ;)

Jadi meh la baca. Boleh kita aplikasikan dengan anak-anak sendiri.

Strategies to help children communicate.

Watch Wait and Listen

Don't always rush in.

Watch to see what the child is interested in or what they are trying to tell you.

Wait to give them a chance to initiate or get involved in the game or conversation.

Listen to what the child is saying so you can respond appropriately.

Comment

Instead of asking a question try making a comment. Remember to respond briefly and reflect on what the child is interested in. Then wait to see what happens!

Ex :

Mum : Jo you've got a big bear!

Fatih : I love bear.

Expand on what the child says

Try repeating back what the child has said and then add in another word to make it longer.

Ex :

Najmy : I got a kite.

Mum   : Yes you've got a big red kite.

Interpret

Try working out the child message. The put the child's behaviour, sounds, words and gestures into adult language 'say it as she would if she could'

Ex :

Izuddin : Uh Uh..! duz.

Mum     : Juice.. you want more juice.

Join in and play!

Build on the child's interest and take the focus off talking. Play together and have fun!

Imitate

Follow the child's lead by coping their actions, sounds, facial expressions or words.

Ex :

Umar  : la. la.. la... laa.

Mum   : la. la.. la... laaaaa.

Be face to face

Get down to the child's physical level and make sure that you can look directly into each others eyes.

Barangkali ada banyak lagi cara lain yang boleh digunakan. Ini hanya sedikit sahaja. Mana tahu boleh tambah-tambah ilmu yang ada kan. Nanti mesti lagi pandai anak-anak bercakap. Jangan pula nanti kita tak larat nak layan anak bercakap. Sabar ye.! :)
